Carrick’s route to recruitment and IT Works is one of the most diverse. Having started his working life in mechanical engineering working for LG Phillips he soon decided he wanted a role that allowed him to work more with people than machinery and moved into hospitality. From there it was a short transition – with some long journeys – into travel and tourism. As a tour rep Carrick has travelled to a fantastic variety of destinations around the world where he was able to really feed his passion for travel and experiencing other cultures. At the beginning of 2020 he found himself working in Mexico, enjoying long sunny days in the “office” until the Coronavirus Pandemic meant he had to return to the UK. During that time Carrick started to explore opportunities where he could use his exceptional customer service skills and allow him to develop a real and lasting career. So began his journey with IT Works.
It will be no surprise that Carrick has a real passion, his passport is well used and has taken him to 43 countries to date from Iceland to Chile and America to the United Arab Emirates – with a “still to visit” list that is equally as impressive. He has also been able to combine his love of sport with his travel and once flew to Dallas, Texas at very short notice on his own to watch and Englishman fight for the UFC Mixed Martial Arts Title. Now that he’s back home he has plans to buy a season ticket for his beloved Manchester United.
One of the most desirable character traits we look for in a consultant is character, someone with the ability to create and maintain excellent working relationships. Carrick is someone who you will easily be able to form a connection with and his determination to ensure you receive the right outcome from any situation mean that you know you’re in safe hands from the start. As one of our ERP Experts in the German market Carrick is the person to speak to if you’re looking to hire or seeking your next post in Baden-Württemberg.
