Matt previously worked in a B2C role, selling gym memberships for a private healthcare club. However, he quickly identified that it wasn’t offering any significant challenges to him. It also wasn’t where he envisioned his future career, which is when Matt began looking into recruitment.
He discovered that recruitment allowed him to interact on a personal level with customers, as well as presenting a clear and structured career path. Ticking all his boxes, Matt decided to join the IT Works family and carve out his future career. Matt now describes IT Works training, structure, and support as the ‘cherry on the icing’, that ultimately allowed him to run his own market and kickstart his career.
The HRIS market iTrent/ResourceLink, in particular, offers individuals an excellent opportunity to showcase their unique abilities. Matt enjoys working with his candidates to further their careers and loves that his market is people-orientated. This has allowed Matt to be able to build some really strong relationships over the years with clients and candidates.
Matt is a complete fitness freak, who works out at least five times a week, shaming the rest of the team with his enthusiasm and commitment. CrossFit is a particular favourite for Matt at the moment, often entering competitions just for the fun of it! Competition is nothing new for Matt though, having previously raced motorbikes at a semi-professional level.
