Technical Business Analyst
Job description
Key Responsibilities:
Become the primary knowledge-holder of all database and bespoke applications across the business
Identify and design at a high level, business solutions that optimise our functionality, meeting and exceeding the requirements of existing and new customers
Work with business managers and teams to optimise the design of the developments, in order to bridge the gap between our production systems and business requirements
Work with the IT Manager to develop road maps for our IT Strategy and to validate proposed Solution Designs
Work with internal and external parties to identify gaps in our suite of IT Applications, creating business cases for recommended solutions (and in some cases implementing them)
Determined database structural requirements by analysing business operations, applications, and programming; reviewing objectives with stakeholders; evaluating current systems
Develop database solutions by designing proposed system; defining database physical structure and functional capabilities, security, back-up, and recovery specifications
Install database systems by developing process flows; applying optimum access techniques; coordinating installation actions; documenting of actions
Maintaining database performance by identifying and resolving production and application development problems; calculating optimum values for parameters; evaluating, integrating, and installing new releases; completing maintenance; answering user questions
Provide database support by coding utilities, responding to user questions, and resolving problems
Knowledge & Skills:
Problem solving and analysis skills
Ability to work on own initiative and drive change to improve utilisation of systems
Ability to work within mixed teams (IT and business) to deliver change and projects
Experience of working with a Group environment, collaborating with colleagues at other plants and within Central IT
An excellent understanding of new technologies and their utilisation within a manufacturing business environment
Ability to work to tight deadlines and prioritise workload
Confident and able to work under minimal supervision

High level of interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation
Excellent communication skills written and verbal with a ‘can do’ attitude
