Meet Darren Mills, our COO, whose journey commenced in hotel management before venturing into the realm of hospitality recruitment. His career trajectory eventually led him to discover his true passion in IT recruitment while working with a prominent global IT Recruitment firm in London. Darren's innate talent for business development allowed him to forge enduring relationships with clients, many of whom thrive to this day.
After returning to his roots in the North West, Darren joined forces with a business partner to establish IT Works in 2004. Their success paved the way for expansion into the United States and the creation of both Populo and Mitec Consulting, specializing in Healthcare and ERP business transformation. He offers invaluable mentorship to our teams and thrives in the dynamic, ambitious atmosphere of our sales floor.
On a daily basis, Darren spearheads our strategic vision and planning. Collaborating closely with clients, he uncovers their unique requirements and matches them with dedicated associate teams that consistently deliver successful projects.
Outside of his professional endeavours, Darren is deeply committed to supporting a local homeless charity, Lancaster & District Homeless Action (LDHA), which provides crucial aid to homeless individuals in his hometown of Lancaster. Since initiating the first bi-annual charity ball in 2014, Darren and the LDHA team have raised approximately £50,000 to assist the homeless population in the region.
In his leisure time, Darren is an avid fly fisherman and an unwavering supporter of Preston North End, always hopeful for Premier League glory. He also embraces his lifelong passion for cricket and enjoys daily walks in the South Cumbria hills with his faithful golden retriever, Floria.
