Typically, for our quarterly achievers, the wining and dining celebrations usually commence in locations such as Liverpool. This time round, a testament to the exceedingly huge successes of our brilliant team, we thought an even bigger reward was in order. After being gifted an extra two days' holiday, our team excitedly packed their bags ready to tour the world-famous Italian capital…Rome.
Beginning with an early start on Thursday, we rushed to beat the crack of dawn to start our journey. A lot of laughs and a smooth plane ride later, we eventually arrived at our chosen destination eager for the adventures that awaited. The first port of call, however, was to head straight to the bar. With a rightly earned beverage in hand, we toasted the hard work, dedication and efforts consistently put in by our team over the past quarter.
Sunshine on our side, it didn’t take long for us to dive right into the sights of Roma. Led by our very own Stuart Quinney (our resident fount of knowledge), we toured around the historic streets - even meeting a few familiar Roman soldiers on the way…
Whilst in Rome, it wasn’t only the sunshine we were soaking up - it was the culture too. Keen to explore the city, we stopped by some famous landmarks. We headed firstly towards the Pantheon where we admired the renowned architecture and sweeping ceilings stretching dizzying heights. Over the coming days, we then explored more highlights (with some much-needed breaks in between) including the Trevi Fountain and even the ancient Colosseum!
It’s fair to say, the view was a little different to our usual office backdrop.
As day rolled into night, we never settled. Far beyond winding down for the evening, we took the chance to discover Italy by candlelight. Everywhere you looked there were pockets of history waiting to be seen. When visiting the Vatican City, we had the perfect 360°eagle-eyed view…
Finally, the thing that we really came to Rome for… the food. We tried every delectable savoury and sweet treat in preparation for our final day feast.

It would be an even split! Whilst the debate remains ongoing, we still enjoyed tucking into some fine foods – of which we would later attempt to recreate at home with varying successes.
Eventually, with everyone’s stomachs full and feet wearied from our travels, it was time to head back home on Saturday night.
We can’t say enough how immensely proud we are of each individual who within only 9 working days managed to smash their January targets – a great result to welcome in the new year. As with all our achiever’s rewards, our trip to Rome was the best opportunity to really celebrate the huge triumphs achieved by every one of our expert team.
