As with ERP consultants for other systems, the field is broad enough that not all candidates will be appropriate for what you need. It’s not uncommon on larger projects to have multiple consultants each working on a different aspect.
This makes it vitally important to create a clear job spec when you begin recruiting. An IFS functional consultant has extremely different training to a technical consultant, and will be useful to you in different situations.
Depending on your industry, you will find certain consultants have experience that’s much more valuable to you – while others may be benefit from a little more hybrid technical excellence.
Do you need a consultant to develop an implementation plan or put a training strategy in place? Will you need them to act as an interface and advocate with your implementation partner?
