Head of IT/Business Systems

Core Accountabilities

· Develops and oversees delivery of departmental strategy aligned with Company strategy.

· Leadership, management and accountability of the IT estate, department and budget, including

applications (Epicor Kinetic and M365), infrastructure and end user computing. Accountable for

the delivery, security and continuous improvement of the company’s IT systems, infrastructure

and digital services.

· Lead the definition of and deliver IT Excellence.

· Lead the development of the IT department, ensuring it has the required resources and

capabilities.

· IT/Technology strategy evolution and delivery of the Roadmap to support the Company and BU

strategies.

· Leading business and technology change as a project sponsor and facilitating successful project

delivery across the Company (when not the project sponsor).

· Driving forward the use of data assets improving business insight and reporting.

· Responsible for the security of the IT estate and defining the required resilience level.

· Build and develop IT partnerships to supplement, compliment and support delivery of the

Roadmap.

Strategy

· Leads the development and delivery of a 5-year IT/Technology strategy that enables the

organisation’s strategic, operational, and growth ambitions (organic and acquisitive).

· Drives forward the Technology roadmap for all applications, with a primary focus on our current

ERP (Epicor Kinetic).

· Defines and is accountable for delivering IT Excellence in line with internal customer needs and

external expectations.

· Leads IT transformation and delivery of a shared services model that supports efficiency and

scalability.

· Delivers successful projects “on time in full” as a project sponsor.

· Defines and implements a data and BI strategy improving decision making and making the

management team more efficient.

· Technology specialist in the development and commercialisation of the Purechain product.

· Defines, documents and implements a solution architecture aligned with the agreed Technology strategy. · Designs and maintains a reporting framework to monitor IT strategic performance and ensure alignment with business outcomes. · Contributes to cross-functional strategic planning by advising on IT opportunities, risks, and interdependencies. Relationships · Acts as a trusted and visible IT business partner, influencing and engaging stakeholders across the organisation. · Is an ambassador for technology and business change. Implements effective change processes to ensure change is successful. · Leads the IT function in developing a collaborative culture and strong communication across all levels. · Supports and advises on the commercialisation of Technology and Purechain as required to deliver sustainable value to the John Hogg. Influence the use of digital channels to sell and communicate with current and prospective customers. · Builds and maintains effective external partnerships to support delivery of IT strategy and operational resilience. Drive value and performance from suppliers. Operational · Provides leadership and oversight for the secure, efficient, and resilient operation of all IT systems, infrastructure, and digital services. · Ensures that risk, security, and compliance are embedded in IT operations and continuously improved. · Works closely with the IT Manager to ensure the structure, capabilities, and planning processes of the team meet current and future needs. · Implements change effectively and ensures technology-led initiatives are delivered successfully and sustainably. · Oversees the delivery of IT budgets, targets, and performance indicators aligned with the company’s business plan. · Supports the Portfolio function and acts as Sponsor for key change projects as required. · Drives operational excellence in IT by promoting best practice, continuous improvement, and user-focused solutions. Other · Oversees the development of an effective IT communication and reporting framework that supports transparency, awareness, and improvement. · Promotes the strategic value of Technology across the organisation, ensuring alignment with innovation, growth, and business change. Priorities are ERP and M365.
