Core purpose

At a company like CDE Global (engineering/manufacturing), the role is to:

  • Implement and optimise the IFS Cloud ERP system
  • Align the system with business processes (manufacturing, supply chain, finance)
  • Act as the bridge between business teams and IT

In simple terms:
You make sure the company’s ERP system actually works for the business.


Key Responsibilities

1. Implementation & Configuration

  • Configure IFS Cloud modules (e.g. Finance, Manufacturing, Supply Chain)
  • Translate business needs into system setup
  • Support upgrades or migration (e.g. Apps 10 ? IFS Cloud)

2. Business Analysis & Stakeholder Work

  • Run workshops with users and managers
  • Gather and refine requirements
  • Map real-world processes into ERP workflows

3. Solution Design & Delivery

  • Design end-to-end ERP solutions
  • Work with developers on integrations/APIs
  • Lead testing (SIT, UAT) and deployment

4. Go-live & Support

  • Support system launch (“go-live”)
  • Fix issues and stabilise the system
  • Train users and create documentation

5. Continuous Improvement

  • Identify process improvements
  • Optimise system usage over time
  • Support new IFS Cloud releases

Skills & Experience Required

Technical / Functional

  • Strong knowledge of IFS Cloud or IFS Apps 9/10
  • Experience in modules like:
    • Manufacturing (very relevant to CDE)
    • Supply Chain / Procurement
    • Finance / Projects
  • Understanding of:
    • Data migration
    • Integrations (APIs, middleware)
    • ERP lifecycle (design ? go-live ? support)

Consulting Skills

  • Stakeholder management
  • Business process mapping
  • Problem-solving & analytical thinking
  • Communication (translating tech ? business)

Typical experience level

  • Usually 3–8+ years for mid-level roles
  • More for senior/lead positions
