Role Overview

The IFS Finance Consultant is responsible for implementing, configuring, and supporting financial modules within IFS ERP. The consultant works closely with finance stakeholders, project teams, and technical consultants to design solutions that align with business requirements and best practices within the IFS ERP platform.

This role involves business analysis, solution design, system configuration, user training, and post-implementation support across finance processes such as General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, and Financial Reporting.


Key Responsibilities

Functional Consulting

  • Lead workshops with finance stakeholders to gather and document business requirements.

  • Analyse current finance processes and recommend improvements aligned with IFS best practices.

  • Configure IFS financial modules including:

    • General Ledger

    • Accounts Payable

    • Accounts Receivable

    • Fixed Assets

    • Cash Management

    • Financial Reporting

  • Design finance solutions within IFS to meet organisational needs.

Implementation & Delivery

  • Support end-to-end ERP implementations, upgrades, or transformation programmes.

  • Prepare functional design documentation and solution specifications.

  • Collaborate with technical consultants on integrations, reports, and customisations.

  • Assist with system testing including unit testing, SIT, and UAT.

  • Support data migration activities for financial data.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work closely with finance leadership, controllers, and accountants.

  • Translate business requirements into system solutions.

  • Provide expert guidance on finance process optimisation.

Training & Support

  • Deliver training sessions and documentation for finance users.

  • Provide go-live support and post-implementation assistance.

  • Troubleshoot finance-related issues and coordinate with technical teams when required.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to optimise finance processes using IFS capabilities.

  • Support ongoing system enhancements and releases.

  • Maintain documentation and knowledge of system configurations.


Required Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Experience implementing or supporting IFS ERP Finance modules.

  • Strong understanding of finance processes including GL, AP, AR, and financial reporting.

  • Experience gathering requirements and conducting stakeholder workshops.

  • Ability to configure ERP financial modules.

  • Experience with system testing and UAT support.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable

  • Experience with IFS Cloud or recent versions of IFS Applications.

  • Knowledge of finance integrations and data migration.

  • Experience working on ERP implementation projects.

  • Accounting qualification or finance background.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or related field.

  • Professional certification in accounting (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) is advantageous but not mandatory.
