IFS Lead Technical Consultant

Overview:

We’re looking for an experienced IFS Lead Technical Consultant to take ownership of the technical design, development, and delivery of IFS solutions across complex enterprise implementations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being the technical authority on a project, mentoring others, and working closely with functional, project, and client stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes.

You’ll play a key role in shaping technical architecture, ensuring best practices, and driving innovation across IFS platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the technical design and development of IFS Applications solutions across full lifecycle implementations, upgrades, and enhancements
• Act as the technical authority on IFS projects, providing guidance on architecture, integrations, customisations, and extensions
• Design, develop, and review:
• Customisations
• Integrations (REST/SOAP APIs, middleware)
• Reports (Crystal, SSRS, IFS reporting tools)
• Data migrations and interfaces
• Ensure solutions align with IFS best practices and minimise unnecessary customisation
• Collaborate closely with functional consultants, solution architects, and project managers
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior and mid-level consultants
• Support testing phases (unit, system, UAT) and assist with deployment and go-live activities
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
• Contribute to technical standards, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives

Required Skills & Experience:

• Strong hands-on experience as an IFS Technical Consultant, with proven leadership responsibility
• Deep technical knowledge of IFS Applications (IFS Cloud and/or IFS Apps 9/10)
• Expertise in:
• PL/SQL
• IFS Custom Objects
• Integrations and APIs
• Reporting and data migration
• Experience leading technical workstreams on end-to-end IFS implementations
• Solid understanding of ERP architecture and enterprise system integration
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Comfortable working in client-facing environments

Desirable:

• IFS Technical or Solution Architect certifications
• Experience across multiple IFS modules (e.g. Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Finance, Asset Management)
• Cloud experience (Azure, IFS Cloud environments)
• Previous experience in a consulting or systems integrator environment
