Role Overview

The IFS Systems Support Engineer is responsible for the support, maintenance, enhancement, and continuous improvement of the organization’s IFS Applications / IFS Cloud ERP environment.

This role ensures system stability, resolves incidents, supports users, manages integrations, and works closely with business stakeholders to optimize ERP functionality across Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Projects, and Service modules.


Key Responsibilities

1. Application Support & Maintenance

  • Provide 2nd and 3rd line support for IFS ERP users.

  • Troubleshoot system issues, identify root causes, and implement fixes.

  • Monitor system performance and proactively address risks.

  • Manage service tickets in line with SLA requirements.

2. System Administration

  • Maintain user roles, permissions, and security configurations.

  • Support system upgrades, patches, and hotfix deployments.

  • Maintain environments (Dev, Test, UAT, Production).

  • Coordinate with infrastructure teams for server/database health.

3. Incident & Problem Management

  • Log, categorize, and prioritize incidents.

  • Perform root cause analysis for recurring issues.

  • Document solutions and maintain knowledge base articles.

4. Configuration & Enhancements

  • Support configuration of IFS modules (Finance, SCM, MFG, Projects, HR, etc.).

  • Assist with custom objects, lobbies, reports, and workflows.

  • Participate in ERP improvement initiatives and change requests.

  • Support integrations with third-party systems.

5. Reporting & Data Management

  • Develop and maintain reports using IFS reporting tools.

  • Assist with data migration, data correction, and data validation.

  • Support SQL queries and database-level troubleshooting.

6. Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work with business users to understand requirements.

  • Translate business needs into system solutions.

  • Provide user training and support documentation.

7. Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure system changes follow change management procedures.

  • Maintain documentation of configurations and customizations.

  • Support audits and compliance activities where required.


Required Skills & Experience

Technical Skills

  • 3+ years’ experience supporting IFS Applications or IFS Cloud

  • Strong understanding of ERP processes (Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Projects)

  • Experience with:

    • PL/SQL or SQL

    • Oracle Database (or relevant database platform)

    • IFS custom objects & configurations

    • Integration tools (APIs, REST services)

  • Understanding of ERP security and role configuration

Desirable

  • Experience with IFS upgrades or cloud migrations

  • Knowledge of ITIL framework

  • Experience in manufacturing or project-driven environments

  • Exposure to Azure or cloud-hosted ERP infrastructure


Qualifications

  • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • IFS certification (desirable)

  • ITIL Foundation (desirable)

Working Conditions

  • May require occasional out-of-hours support during upgrades or critical incidents
