IFS Technical Lead

1. Role Overview

The IFS Technical Lead will be responsible for driving the technical design, development, and delivery of IFS solutions across a major transformation programme. This role will provide hands-on leadership across architecture, integration, and customisation, ensuring scalable and high-quality technical solutions aligned to business needs. The position is offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract (FTC), with a focus on delivering key project milestones within a defined timeframe.


2. Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Architecture

  • Own the end-to-end technical solution design for IFS implementations and enhancements
  • Define architecture standards, integration patterns, and development best practices
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and security standards

Development & Delivery

  • Lead the build, configuration, and customisation of IFS applications
  • Oversee integrations with third-party systems (APIs, middleware, data services)
  • Support data migration, system testing, and deployment activities

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with functional leads, business analysts, and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
  • Provide technical input into planning, estimation, and solution design workshops
  • Act as the technical escalation point for delivery issues

Team Leadership

  • Guide and mentor developers and technical consultants
  • Ensure code quality, documentation, and adherence to development standards
  • Promote a collaborative and delivery-focused team culture

Governance & Quality Assurance

  • Establish and enforce technical governance, code reviews, and quality controls
  • Identify and mitigate technical risks and dependencies
  • Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and maintainable

3. Key Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Strong hands-on experience with IFS (IFS Cloud preferred)
  • Proven track record in a Technical Lead or Senior Developer role within ERP environments
  • Expertise in IFS technical components (e.g., integrations, data migration, customisation, reporting)
  • Experience with APIs, middleware, and system integrations
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and delivery methodologies
  • Excellent problem-solving and stakeholder communication skills

Desirable

  • Experience in cloud-based deployments and modern integration frameworks
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience in relevant industries (e.g., Manufacturing, Engineering, Energy, Construction)
  • Relevant certifications in IFS or software development frameworks
