NetSuite System Accountant

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Systems Accountant with strong NetSuite expertise to support the ongoing optimisation, maintenance and enhancement of our NetSuite ERP system. This contract role is suited to a qualified accountant who combines solid finance knowledge with hands-on system capability.

You will act as the key link between Finance and IT, ensuring NetSuite is effectively supporting business processes, reporting requirements and control frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and maintain the NetSuite finance system, ensuring optimal performance and usability

  • Act as the primary liaison between Finance, IT and third-party NetSuite partners

  • Configure and enhance NetSuite financial modules (GL, AP, AR, Fixed Assets, Revenue Recognition)

  • Translate finance and operational requirements into scalable NetSuite solutions

  • Support system upgrades, enhancements and ongoing optimisation initiatives

  • Improve financial processes, controls and reporting through effective system use

  • Manage and support integrations between NetSuite and other business systems

  • Develop and maintain reports, saved searches and dashboards within NetSuite

  • Support month-end, year-end and audit processes from a systems perspective

  • Ensure data integrity, governance and consistency across the platform

  • Provide user training, documentation and ongoing support to finance users

Required Experience & Skills

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)

  • Proven experience in a Systems Accountant or NetSuite-focused finance systems role

  • Strong hands-on experience with NetSuite ERP (configuration, reporting, administration)

  • In-depth understanding of core finance processes (GL, AP, AR, reporting, consolidation)

  • Experience creating NetSuite saved searches, reports and dashboards

  • Strong Excel skills and data analysis capability

  • Experience working in project or change environments

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

Desirable

  • NetSuite certification (e.g. Administrator or ERP Consultant)

  • Experience with SuiteFlow, SuiteScript or system customisation

  • Experience supporting NetSuite implementations or post-go-live optimisation

  • Knowledge of integrations (e.g. middleware or third-party tools)

  • Experience in a multi-entity or international finance environment
