Software Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, test, deploy and maintain high-quality software solutions supporting internal operations and customer-facing services.

The role will focus on C# and .NET development, including building secure, scalable applications, APIs and system integrations. You will work closely with technical teams and business stakeholders to translate requirements into reliable solutions while contributing to development standards and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and maintain applications using C# and the .NET platform.

• Develop and support RESTful APIs, web services and system integrations.

• Produce clean, maintainable and well-documented code, following secure coding practices.

• Contribute to the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and technical design through to deployment and ongoing support.

• Investigate and resolve software defects, performance issues and integration failures.

• Develop and maintain automated unit and integration tests.

• Use source control, peer reviews and CI/CD practices to support reliable software releases.

• Collaborate with stakeholders, technical colleagues, customers and third-party suppliers to deliver effective solutions.

• Support the maintenance, optimisation and upgrading of business-critical applications and integrations.

Requirements

• At least 3 years' experience in software development.

• Strong experience with C# and .NET, including ASP.NET Core.

• Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs, web services and system integrations.

• Good understanding of relational databases, SQL and data access technologies such as Entity Framework.

• Experience with debugging, automated testing, exception handling, logging and application monitoring.

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.

• Understanding of application security, data protection, performance and scalability.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Effective communication skills, with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Ability to manage priorities, take ownership of tasks and work collaboratively within a team.

Desirable Experience

• Microsoft Azure and cloud-hosted application development.

• Front-end technologies such as JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS or Blazor.

• Azure DevOps and enterprise business applications or platforms.

• Exposure to IT service management systems, ERP platforms, reporting tools or mobile device management solutions.
