Epicor System Specialist

Job Purpose

 
We are seeking an experienced Epicor ERP Expert to join our team in-house to take ownership of the ongoing optimisation, support, and development of our Epicor system. This role is critical in ensuring our ERP platform supports business operations effectively, drives efficiencies, and provides accurate, timely data for decision-making.


The ideal candidate will combine strong technical Epicor expertise with a solid understanding of finance and operational processes, and will act as the go-to internal specialist for all Epicor-related matters. 
 

Experience and Qualifications


Proven experience with Epicor ERP (Kinetic)


Strong knowledge of key modules such as:
  • Finance (GL, AP, AR)
  • Sales & Order Processing
  • Supply Chain / Inventory / Planning (MRP)
  • Manufacturing

Hands-on experience with:
  • BAQs (Business Activity Queries)
  • Dashboards & SSRS Forms
  • BPMs (Business Process Management)
  • Customisation tools & personalisation

Technical Skills
  • Understanding of Epicor architecture and database structure
  • Experience with SQL Server
  • Familiarity with Epicor REST APIs / integrations
     
Business & Functional Knowledge
  • Strong understanding of finance processes and controls
  • Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or supply chain environments
  • Ability to translate business requirements into system solutions

Key Responsibilities  


Epicor System Ownership
  • Act as the internal subject matter expert for Epicor Kinetic ERP
  • Maintain system configuration, ensuring alignment with business processes and controls
  • Manage system upgrades, patches, and releases with minimal business disruption

User Support & Training
  • Provide day-to-day support to Epicor users across finance, operations, and supply chain
  • Troubleshoot system issues and resolve queries in a timely manner
  • Deliver user training and create guidance materials to improve system adoption

Process Improvement & Optimisation
  • Identify opportunities to streamline and improve business processes within Epicor
  • Implement automation solutions (e.g., BAQs, BPMs, dashboards)
  • Drive standardisation and best practice across departments

Data Integrity & Control
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and integrity of data within the ERP system
  • Support internal and external audits relating to ERP processes
  • Monitor and reduce data errors, manual corrections, and control weaknesses

Reporting & Analytics
  • Develop and maintain BAQs, dashboards, and reports to support decision-making
  • Work with stakeholders to define reporting requirements and deliver actionable insights
  • Reduce reliance on manual reporting through automation

Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Liaise with Finance, IT, Supply Chain, Manufacturing and external vendors to support business needs
  • Translate business requirements into system solutions
  • Act as the bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders

Change Management & Projects
  • Lead or support ERP-related projects, enhancements, and system rollouts
  • Manage testing, deployment, and user acceptance processes
  • Ensure smooth adoption of new features and changes across the business

Documentation & Governance
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of system processes, configurations, and workflows
  • Establish and enforce ERP governance, controls, and best practices
