Business Systems Manager

As our Business Systems Manager, you will play a key role in running, supporting, and evolving the organisation's ERP and wider business systems landscape.

You will be part of a collaborative, solutions-focused technology team, helping to deliver and support enterprise systems that enable operational and strategic business objectives.

This leadership role within the Enterprise Solutions team combines technical leadership, team development, and hands-on problem solving. You will work closely with analysts, architects, engineers, data specialists, business stakeholders, and external partners to deliver and continuously improve business-critical technology.

As part of a major digital transformation programme, the organisation is implementing a new ERP platform while continuing to support legacy systems. You will play a central role in ensuring a smooth transition by maintaining the stability of existing systems, supporting the implementation programme, and building the capability required to operate and enhance the new platform in the future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a small technical team.
  • Manage ERP and business systems across BAU support, maintenance, and continual improvement.
  • Provide technical leadership while remaining hands-on when required.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, third-party vendors, and implementation partners.
  • Support ERP implementation and transition into business-as-usual operations.
  • Ensure system stability, performance, and ongoing evolution.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex system and business process issues.
  • Balance strategic system design with practical operational requirements.

Essential Experience

  • Experience working with enterprise ERP systems (cloud ERP experience preferred).
  • Proven experience managing ERP and/or other business systems.
  • Strong understanding of at least one end-to-end business process (e.g. Finance, HR, Supply Chain, Manufacturing).
  • Experience managing stakeholders, software vendors, and delivery partners.
  • Ability to balance leadership, stakeholder management, and hands-on technical work.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience delivering ERP implementations or major business transformation programmes.
  • Experience working within Retail, Manufacturing, or B2C environments.
  • Experience with enterprise forecasting and planning solutions.
