Job Summary
The IFS Manufacturing Consultant is responsible for implementing, configuring, optimising, and supporting IFS ERP manufacturing solutions across production and operational environments. The role works closely with business stakeholders, production teams, supply chain, engineering, and IT teams to improve manufacturing processes and ensure successful ERP delivery.
The consultant will lead workshops, gather requirements, design solutions, configure IFS modules, support testing and training, and provide ongoing functional expertise throughout project lifecycles.
Key Responsibilities
Functional Consulting
- Lead discovery workshops with manufacturing and operations stakeholders.
- Analyse current business processes and identify improvement opportunities.
- Translate business requirements into functional IFS ERP solutions.
- Configure and support IFS Manufacturing modules.
- Provide best-practice guidance for manufacturing operations within IFS.
Manufacturing Process Support
- Support discrete, engineer-to-order, make-to-stock, or make-to-order manufacturing environments.
- Configure and optimise:
- Shop floor control
- Work centres
- Routings and BOMs
- Production scheduling
- Capacity planning
- MRP/MPS
- Inventory and warehouse processes
- Quality management
- Demand planning
- Support integration between manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, finance, and engineering.
Project Delivery
- Participate in ERP implementation and upgrade projects.
- Produce functional specifications and documentation.
- Support data migration and validation activities.
- Assist with system testing including SIT and UAT.
- Deliver end-user training and post-go-live support.
- Work with technical teams on integrations and customisations.
Stakeholder Management
- Build strong relationships with operational and senior stakeholders.
- Communicate project progress, risks, and recommendations.
- Support change management and user adoption.
Continuous Improvement
- Recommend process optimisation opportunities.
- Identify automation and reporting improvements.
- Stay current with IFS product developments and manufacturing best practices.
Required Skills & Experience
Essential
- Strong experience implementing or supporting IFS ERP within manufacturing environments.
- Knowledge of manufacturing operations and production processes.
- Experience with:
- Production planning
- MRP
- Shop floor execution
- Inventory management
- Supply chain processes
- Ability to gather and document business requirements.
- Experience delivering ERP projects or transformations.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
Desirable
- Experience with IFS Cloud or IFS Applications.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
- Experience in aerospace, defence, engineering, automotive, or industrial manufacturing sectors.
- SQL or reporting knowledge.
- Experience with integrations and middleware.
- Exposure to finance and supply chain ERP modules.
- Prince2, Agile, or PMP certification.
