NetSuite + SuiteApps Functional Consultant

Job Description — NetSuite + SuiteApps Functional Consultant

Overview
A NetSuite partner with its own suite of add-on applications is hiring a Functional Consultant to support customers through the full delivery lifecycle, from initial requirements through to go-live and ongoing support. The role covers both standard NetSuite implementations and the company's proprietary on-platform tools, working with a varied, international customer base.

Purpose
The consultant owns the customer relationship from solution design through delivery, combining hands-on implementation work with project ownership. Most work is remote, with occasional client site visits.

Key responsibilities

Pre-sales support (a smaller part of the role)

  • Preparing demonstration environments to show how prospect requirements can be met
  • Supporting sales-led prospect meetings, mostly remote, occasionally in person
  • Demonstrating platform capability against prospect needs
  • Scoping which modules or add-ons are required and estimating delivery effort

Delivery (the majority of the role)

  • Running discovery workshops to understand customer business processes and pain points
  • Producing Business Requirements Documents to scope implementations
  • Agreeing project plans and timelines with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Delivering end-to-end implementation: configuration against requirements, managing scope changes, coordinating with internal teams on customisation work, data migration, customer training, and UAT through to go-live and sign-off
  • Reporting on project progress against budget, timeline, and customer expectations
  • Providing ongoing post-go-live support via phone, email, and screen-sharing, with occasional site visits
  • Producing training and support documentation
  • Maintaining customer relationships over time, including periodic check-ins and flagging relevant product developments

Overarching focus

  • Owning both delivery and project management for each engagement, with no separate PM function
  • Balancing customer outcomes with commercial delivery

Experience (essential)

  • Several years' experience in a business environment, including meaningful hands-on time with ERP software
  • Solid working knowledge of core financial processes within an ERP system
  • Experience implementing NetSuite across core financial and operational modules
  • Enough grounding in standard accounting practices to speak credibly with senior finance stakeholders
  • Proven ability to manage a project from start to finish, including budget, timeline, and competing priorities
  • Full UK driving licence if UK based

Experience (beneficial)

  • A recognised accounting, bookkeeping, or related qualification
  • NetSuite certification (Administrator or ERP Consultant)
  • A change management or project management qualification
  • Exposure to, or interest in, international accounting practices

Personal skills and style

  • Strong integrity and a collaborative approach
  • Confident communicating with stakeholders at all levels, including senior finance leadership
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, changeable environment
  • Methodical, detail-oriented, and a strong problem solver
  • Resilient under pressure and reliable against deadlines
  • Open to feedback and direction

Practical arrangements

  • Full time, standard working week
  • Hybrid working, with office attendance frequency dependent on location and negotiated at interview
  • Occasional UK and international travel to client sites, expenses covered
  • Generous holiday allowance, increasing with tenure
  • Pension scheme
